10/12/2007 - Stockholm, Sweden (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Seeking a third straight title at the Stockholm Open, American star James Blake defeated Finn Jarkko Nieminen on Friday in a rematch of last year's finale at Royal Tennis Hall.

The top-seeded Blake improved to 13-0 at this event by overcoming the sixth- seeded Nieminen 6-7 (1-7), 6-4, 6-2. Blake also bested the two-time Stockholm finalist Nieminen here a year ago.

Blake tallied 10 aces and four service breaks in his 1-hour, 40-minute victory over Nieminen.

The 27-year-old Blake's semifinal opponent on Saturday will be heavy Swedish crowd favorite Thomas Johansson.

In other quarterfinal action involving seeds, No. 4 German Tommy Haas handled No. 5 Argentine Juan Monaco 6-3, 6-3 and No. 7 Croat Ivo Karlovic outlasted diminutive Frenchman Arnaud Clement 7-6 (7-1), 3-6, 7-6 (9-7). The 6-foot-10 Karlovic needed to stave off a match point before sneaking past the pesky Clement.

Haas will meet Karlovic in Saturday's other semi.

A popular Day-6 win came when the aforementioned Johansson got past capable Croat Mario Ancic 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (7-3). The veteran Johansson titled here in 2000 and 2004 and was the runner-up back in 1998.
