Twins' Morneau to miss All-Star Game

Baseball Betting Lines

07/10/2010 - Detroit, MI (The Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Minnesota Twins first baseman Justin Morneau will miss Tuesday's All-Star Game in Anaheim as he continues to suffer from concussion-like symptoms.

Morneau was accidentally kneed in the head Wednesday night by Toronto's John McDonald while sliding into second base in the eighth inning.

He missed his third straight game on Saturday and saw a head and concussion specialist in Detroit, who recommended rest. Morneau will be re-evaluated in Minnesota during the three-day break for the Midsummer Classic.

The 29-year-old Morneau was slated to appear in the All-Star Game for the fourth consecutive year and for the first time as an elected starter.

In 81 games this season, he is batting .345 -- third best in the American League entering play on Saturday -- with 18 home runs and 56 runs batted in.

Kurt Warner to start, Matt Leinart to watch

Despite the debate that's swirling , Kurt Warner will remain the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, coach Dennis Green said today. The Arizona Cardinals are the +7 point underdog at online sportsbook MySportsbook.com for this Sunday's game.

Green's comment came in a statement released by the team following an ESPN report that Green decided that rookie Matt Leinart would replace Warner as starter for Sunday's game at Atlanta.

"Generally talking about the starting lineup is not something we do," Green told the AP. "However, given the speculation that was out there we want to make it clear. We're disappointed after last week, but we still expect to be a playoff football team and we fully expect Kurt Warner to be the quarterback that leads us. That has not changed."
